The Sweet & Sassy Line Dance Team is a performance troupe of experienced line dancers. Led by Director Christine Bass, the team has performed in The Villages Christmas and St. Patrick’s Day parades, at Spanish Springs Town Square and at club events, socials, workshops and benefits.
Members of the team are selected through tryouts, which are held in January and August. All experienced line dancers are invited to apply. Candidates are taught a dance, which they perform as team members critique them on appearance, enthusiasm, energy, posture and the ability to stay in step, in time with the music and in line.
Team members commit to attending weekly practices from 1-4 p.m. on Tuesday at Bridgeport Recreation Center and from 1-3 p.m. Friday at Allamanda Recreation Center, and to purchasing costumes and accessories. In addition, members pay $5 dues per month.
