MONDAY COLONY COTTAGE CLASSES CANCELED
The Monday classes that meet at Colony Cottage Recreation Center (Noon-1 p.m. Beginner; 1-2 p.m. Beginner Plus and 2-3 p.m. Intermediate) will not meet on Monday, Sept. 6.
SEPT. 12 LINE DANCE CONNECTION SOCIAL TO HAVE FALL COLORS THEME
The Line Dance Connection invites Beginner Plus and Intermediate Village line dancers for an evening of dancing from 6-9 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 12 at Laurel Manor Recreation Center. LINE DANCE SOCIAL FOR BEGINNERS ONLY COMING OCT. 10
All Beginner line dancers in The Villages are invited to an evening of dancing and fun from 6-9 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 10 at Lake Miona Recreation Center. Jean Brewer and Marlyn Marszalek will be the hostesses for the evening. Villages IDs are required for admission. There is no charge to attend, but dancers are encouraged to support a 50/50 drawing, which will offset expenses. Dancers are encouraged to bring their own drinks and snacks.
OCTOBER CLASS CHANGES FOR SATURDAY MORNING CLASSES
The Saturday classes that meet at Lake Miona Recreation Center (7:30-9 a.m. Beginner Plus/Low Intermediate and 9-10:20 a.m. Intermediate) will meet at alternate locations on Oct. 16, 23 and 30. Here is the schedule:
Oct. 16: 7:30-10:20 a.m. at Hibiscus Recreation Center
Oct. 23: 9-11:20 a.m. at Coconut Cove Recreation Center
Oct. 30: 9-11:20 a.m. at Coconut Cove Recreation Center
TOUR THE GREEK ISLES IN OCTOBER WITH KIP SWEENY
Sail with Kip Sweeny on the m/v Cristal, an intimate vessel of approximately 1,000 passengers, Oct. 13-23. The cruise will visit Istanbul, Turkey as well as the Greek Islands of Mykonos, Patmos, Kusadasi, Rhodes, Crete and Santorini. MONTHLY SOCIALS AT DANCING SHADOWS TO START NOV. 20
Villages line dance instructor Carol Simmons will host monthly dance socials at Dancing Shadows, 13405 S.E. Highway 484 in Belleview, beginning Saturday, Nov. 20. The socials will be held from 7-10 p.m. Cost is $8 for dancers, with non-dancing guests invited to attend at no charge. Attendees are welcome to bring beverages and snacks. Other social dates for the 2010-11 season are Dec. 11, Jan. 15, Feb. 19, March 19 and April 16. Carol's Friday afternoon class at Dancing Shadows will resume from 3:30-5:30 p.m. in November.

MARK YOUR CALENDAR FOR THE VILLAGES LINE DANCE HOEDOWN MARCH 5, 2011
Choreographers Michele Burton and Michael Barr will be guest instructors for an all-day line dance workshop on Saturday, March 5, 2011 at Colony Cottage Recreation Center. Registration will start at 9 a.m. and the workshop will be held from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. There will be a break for dinner from 5-7 p.m. Attendees are invited to return for open dancing from 7-10:30 p.m. Everyone is encouraged to wear Western attire for the hoedown. Registration for the hoedown will be through The Villages Lifelong Learning College and will begin in December 2010.

All dancers are reminded that line dance class in The Villages are fragrance-free gatherings. If you are attending a class, please refrain from using perfume, cologne and personal care items with a fragrance. What seems a light scent to a user can be overpowering to a nearby dancer -- especially to someone with a chemical allergy. Please be considerate to all and enjoy scent-free dancing.
