The Line Dance Connection Dance of the Month for June is Wagon Wheel Rock by Yvonne Anderson. The Dance of the Month for July will be Long Distance Love by Dee Musk. The Recreation Department instructors who participate in the Line Dance Connection and others will teach this dance in their June classes.

Intermediate instructor Christine Bass is holding a summer drop-in class from 12:30-2:30 p.m. on Friday at Allamanda Recreation Center.  Marge Winnegar will co-host the class with Christine, which will feature guest instructors. 

Darlene Miller's Tuesday Intermediate class at Laurel Manor Recreation Center (1-2:50 p.m.) will not meet on July 2 or July 23 due to a conflict at the recreation center. 

Low Intermediate and Intermediate line dancers in The Villages are invited to the summer Line Dance Connection social from 6-8:30 p.m. on July 14 at SeaBreeze Recreation Center. Marlyn Marszalek is the hostess for the evening and the theme is "Luau." Villages IDs are required for admission. There is no charge, but dancers are asked to support the 50/50 drawing, as proceeds help the host instructors offset music and other costs. Everyone is invited to bring their beverages and snacks.

Villages line dance instructor Jan Ramsey and Scooter the DJ will host a cruise to the Eastern Caribbean from Nov. 30 to Dec. 7 aboard Royal Caribbean's Oasis of the Seas. Ports of call on the seven-night cruise include the Bahamas, St. Thomas and St. Martin. The cruise includes dance instruction and private line dance parties and onboard events. Rates begin at $1,329 per person, double occupancy, and include all taxes, fees, shipboard gratuities and round-trip motor coach to Port Everglades. The Crown Princess will spend seven nights at sea, stopping at the Princess Cays, St. Maarten, St. Thomas and Grand Turk. The cruise includes a cocktail party, three dance classes, two line dance parties and a $25 shipboard credit. Rates start at $859 per person, double occupancy. Don't forget to silence your mobile phone before you walk into a line dance class. Put your phone on "mute" or shut it down. Your calls will go to voice mail and you can return them when class ends. The ringing of cell phones disrupts the class, interrupts the instructor and annoys your fellow dancers.

Line dance classes in The Villages are fragrance-free environments. Please do not use perfume, cologne or highly-scented personal care products if you are going to attend a line dance class. Even a light scent can be overwhelming to the dancers next to you, especially to those with chemical allergies. Please be considerate to all!
